About My Blog

Person in a green sweater stands among autumn trees, looking up and smiling. My name is Alex, and I am living with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), as well as the long-term effects of a severe case of Stevens Johnson syndrome (SJS). That is, I am an individual living a normal-to-me, fulfilling lifestyle that just happens to include chronic illness!

It’s not always easy to be positive and feel motivated, but the support of family, friends, and the online autoimmune community has been there to keep me going. I can attest to the incredible power of sharing and commiserating with others as a key tool to helping my find clarity in the chaos of the healthcare world that many of us deal with on a daily basis.

I began this blog a a means to share my story, but it has reached farther than I ever dreamed. I have reorganized the site to be able to provide useful tips and posts to help others commiserate and navigate their own chaotic health paths. But I’m also keeping this blog (and many of the original posts) as a way of sharing my personal journey with all of you.
